Our Team
Janey Thomas, Campus Minister
Janey grew up in Lone Grove, Oklahoma. She is an alumnus of Lone Grove High School & East Central University with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. During college, Janey worked closely with the youth group at Trinity Baptist Church in Ada. She was also very active at the UCM (now Momentum Campus Ministry) as a member of the leadership team and an evangelism intern. She had the opportunity to go on numerous mission trips and was a leader at many summer camps at Cross Point. It was during her time at UCM (now Momentum Campus Ministry) that Janey felt called to full-time Christian Ministry. She began fulfilling that calling prior to college graduation at First Presbyterian Church in Ada as the Director of Christian Education for Children, Youth & College. She remained very active on the Board of Directors for the UCM (now the ECU Wesley). After 4 years at FPC, Janey moved to Will Rogers UMC in Tulsa as the children’s minister. During this time, she served on the Wesley Board at the University of Tulsa as well as on the Conference’s Standing Committee on Campus Ministry. God opened a door of opportunity for Janey to join the staff at the OU Wesley as the Associate Campus Minister in July 2008. She oversaw: the day-to-day logistics, discipled females on their leadership team, lead the Leaders in Training Program, oversaw the small group & bible study ministry, planned & carried out their summer golf tournament, and spoke at numerous churches & summer camps about campus ministry. Janey married her best friend, Tony Thomas on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Ada First United Methodist Church. She feels very blessed by God in all the many opportunities that have been given to her.

Jacob Allen, Ministry Intern
Jacob is a junior from Lindsay, Oklahoma. His major is Kinesiology and plans to graduate in 2024. Jacob's home church is Erin Springs Baptist Church. Side note: Jacob's sister, Sarah, is also an intern! Jacob's hobbies include fishing and playing video games. His favorite food: ALL FOOD! Jacob says his favorite verse in the bible is Ephesians 5:20-"giving thanks in always and for everything." Why Momentum Campus Ministry? Because it's a family that I got "kidnapped" into and have loved it ever since. It's the family I didn't know I needed.

His hobbies include bible study, hunting, fishing and cooking. His favorite food is ice cream. His favorite verse is Hebrews 11:33-34. “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to fight the armies of the aliens.” Chandler is always excited to be a part of the body of Christ. He has the tools the Lord has given him that he is ready to nurture and use to bring forth fruit; it’s incredible to see His work before your very eyes.

Jay Miller, Ministry Intern
Jay Miller is a sophomore from Byng, Oklahoma. She is exploring her options when it comes to choosing a major. Her hobbies include reading and cheering (she is on the cheer team at ECU). Her favorite scripture is 1 Peter 5:6-9. "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world." Why Momentum Campus Ministry? She loves the team and family that surrounds her. Momentum provides a love she didn't know she needed until she received it.
